The vulture was the result of three years' hard work and preparation by Mr. Lee and his brother, Mr. Park, and Mr. Kim, of the Kim family, who were instrumental in getting the vulture to the island. The vulture was first photographed in the waters of the island and picked out at a private viewing in December 2010. In September 2011, the vulture was placed up for sale on the island. Mr. Lee and Mr. Park have both been on the island for more than a month since taking possession of the bird. They moved in with other tenants in September 2013 and they are preparing for the upcoming season. They have been working hard to produce a bird that is worth keeping and will be able to make a good living from it. They have been working for a year and are very happy with the vulture's condition and its ability to fly freely in its habitat.

One bird also became a member of the family after a small piece of plastic and a small brush from a nearby tree was left near the vulture's nest for him and his family to pick up. When he picked it up he returned the bird to its home. He plans on using the plastic as a featherweight. He hopes that the bird will learn by observation and by training and will have a home. Mr. Lee will also be moving into a condo in the spring of 2015.
